AI companion privacy, billing and cancelling

A step-by-step way to compare what AI companion apps store, use for training, sell and delete, and what to check on price before you pay.

Start with who keeps your chats

The first question is not whether a service claims privacy. It is whether a transcript survives the conversation. GBC-AI Nika states its position plainly: Chats not stored by us; anonymised prompts to AI APIs. Femma takes the same line: Chats not permanently stored; data sold: never. Both describe a service where a conversation can end and leave very little behind.

Other brands use the language of secrecy rather than retention. AI Punca advertises Private anonymous chats, and AIAllure advertises Private 100% confidential chats. Those words cover who can look in, not how long a record survives. The AI Punca review and the AIAllure review fill in the surrounding detail.

A few services publish a short clock instead. GeneratePorn.ai sets a hard limit: Results deleted after 12h; nothing used for training. HakkoAI applies the same discipline to a different asset: Screenshots kept 3 days; deletion on request; own model. Short storage windows are easy to read and easy to verify later, so start the shortlist here.

Read the retention window, then find the deletion route

Several policies state a window outright. Dreamz.ai gives one: Data kept 90 days-2 years; deleted on request. FLIRTcam.AI gives another: Deletion on request; chat data kept 18 months. GirlfriendGPT names a country and a cut-off: US servers; account data deleted in 90 days. Put these side by side and the spread between services becomes obvious.

A window answers only part of the question. The rest is how a deletion request gets made. Candy.ai routes it through support: Account deletion on request via support. Chai AI offers in-app deletion and still keeps data for a fixed span: Deletion in-app; data kept 5 years; chats train models. EVA AI ties erasure to the profile itself: Chats used to improve AI; delete profile to erase. The difference only shows up on the day someone asks.

Others make deletion a request rather than a setting. AI Angels pairs its storage promise with a deletion route: Kept only as needed; deletion on request; no sale. eHentai.ai does the same: Chats kept only as long as necessary; delete on request. AI Angels and Chai AI therefore belong in different columns of any table you build, even though both offer deletion.

Separate confidentiality from training

Keeping a chat private and using it to train a model are two separate promises, and services state them separately. CrushOn.AI says Chats used to train models; deletion on request. Dondi AI says Chats may train AI models; delete on request. Fanfinity says Chats stored until deleted; may train AI. In each case the chat is kept and training is permitted, so confidentiality language elsewhere on the same site does not change the position.

Chai AI compresses both points into a single line: Deletion in-app; data kept 5 years; chats train models. DreamCompanion pairs storage with product improvement: Chats stored; used to improve AI; deletion on request. Reading a policy means finding the training clause, not just the storage clause, because the two carry different consequences.

Others qualify the position. DarLink limits its use of chats: Chats stored, may train AI on anonymized data. Dippy AI removes identifying details from chats before they train its models, and holds them while the service is in use. Baratnoim.hu states the opposite: Chats private, not used for training.

Check what leaves the service

Sale and sharing come next. AIGirlfriends.ai says its data is not sold or shared: Encrypted; data not sold or shared. Couple.me says the same and adds a retention period: Data kept 6 years after account closure; not sold. Femma states its position flatly: Chats not permanently stored; data sold: never. A stated no-sale position is worth more than a general reassurance about trust.

The word most services leave out is review. Golove.ai says chats are moderated: Data kept 6 years after account closure; chats moderated. dziewczyna.ai goes the other way and says chats are not shared or reviewed without consent: Chats private, not shared or reviewed without consent. Ask what review means, who performs it and whether a person reads transcripts before assuming it is invisible to you.

Storage location and encryption are separate lines again. Fantasy.ai says: Chats kept in EEA; deleted or anonymised when unneeded. Backyard AI describes industry-standard encryption. CherryPop AI adds regulation to the storage claim: Chats stored encrypted, GDPR CCPA stated. None of these describe training, so keep the two checks apart rather than merging them into one judgement.

Clauses that outlive the account

A small number of terms survive the closing of an account, and these deserve a slow read. Get-Harder retains user content and holds a perpetual publish licence: User content retained; perpetual publish licence. That is the broadest claim in this group of services, and it is easier to accept before signup than to renegotiate afterwards.

Two services keep data for a fixed span after closure. Couple.me: Data kept 6 years after account closure; not sold. Golove.ai: Data kept 6 years after account closure; chats moderated. A person who plans to leave should read both lines as a retention promise rather than a footnote, because the clock starts at closure rather than at deletion.

Cancelling a subscription and erasing data are not the same act, and these policies show the difference clearly. A service can offer one and not the other. Before cancelling anywhere, note the deletion route from the previous sections, then confirm it works from the account screen rather than from support.

Weight price against what stays stored

Privacy is one line on the bill. The others are the plan, the billing interval and what happens at renewal. On each shortlist app, read the pricing page and write down what you get before you pay, what a paid plan changes, and how to cancel. Then check the same three points in the reviews, starting with the AI companion apps ranking.

Category groupings speed up the price work. The AI girlfriend apps ranking and the AI boyfriend apps ranking put similar services side by side, which makes the plan and interval comparison quicker to finish.

A worked example: take three apps from the shortlist and fill in four cells for each one, the storage line, the training line, the deletion route and the plan price. Services that answer all four plainly move above services that answer none, at any price point. Reviews such as the AI Angels review, the Backyard AI review and the Baibu review give that shape before any payment is made.
