Pros and cons
DreamCompanion
Pros
- The free tier is usable rather than a demo: Free core chat, 1 character, 10-20 messages, enough to pick a persona and judge the reply style before paying.
- Image generation and video generation are both included, so a chat can move from text to pictures and clips.
- Long-term memory of chats and preferences keeps chats and preferences on file, so the companion does not reset each time you open it.
Cons
- Fees of $45 a month are heavy beside CrushOn.AI at $3.90 to $14.90 and Dippy AI at $4.99 to $12.99.
- Media is metered on top: 3 to 20 Dream Coins per image or character generation per image or character generation, so a subscription does not cover pictures.
- Help runs on email and community, so a billing question waits for email or a community reply.
OhChat
Pros
- Focuses on adult roleplay with female and male personas for varied scenarios
- Includes image generation and video generation alongside web access for creative play
- Provides adult age gate on entry plus help centre support for guidance
Cons
- Content is adult and uncensored, which narrows the audience considerably
- Characters are prebuilt and curated rather than fully custom
