Descript review

The listed monthly charge is $24, and that figure is the one to budget around. The other brands on this list sit lower, at $7.99, $9.99 and $9.99, so Descript is the most expensive of the four by monthly price alone.

Yes, a Free plan available is listed alongside the paid tier. That lets you look at the video tools before paying, then move to the monthly rate of $24 if it suits. The free option is the low-risk way to see whether output at 1080p matches what you want.

The listing names free and premium models, so the choice is a two-level split: a free model and a premium one. The premium side is what the $24 monthly charge covers, while the Free plan available covers the free model.

Yes, video generation is available, and the listed maximum resolution is 1080p. That sets the ceiling for output quality, so if you need higher resolution you would have to look elsewhere. The video side is the reason this brand is worth a look for adults who want generated video rather than text chat.

Support runs through help centre and community, so answers come from the help centre or the community. There is no live chat or phone line in the listed channels, so plan for written answers rather than real-time conversation and check the help centre first.

Adults who want video generation and can plan for a $24 monthly charge. The Free plan available makes it easy to look before you commit, and video output at 1080p suits standard screen viewing. Readers shopping mainly on monthly price should compare $9.99 first, since it costs less.

On monthly price Descript ranks 70 of 94 brands tracked on the site, with a cost score of 3.7 and an overall score of 3.7. The site median monthly price is €13.15, so the paid rate sits above the middle.
